What are the filing fees for an Expungement in Oklahoma?

There are several different filing fees necessary for you complete § 18 expungement. A typical expungement petition will involve the following filing fees:

  • Attorney’s fee;

  • Filing fee paid directly to the District Court in which your expungement is filed;

  • Expungement fee paid directly to Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation; and

  • Expungement fee paid directly to the municipality or local law enforcement (if applicable).

The current filing fee for an expungement in Oklahoma County is $154.14. This fee is paid directly to the Court Clerk and is necessary to institute your lawsuit against the state and state agencies and to set a hearing before a district judge. After your case is ordered expunged, we must send certified copies of the Court Order to all agencies that have your records, including local law enforcement and Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is a state agency that collects information on arrests and criminal charges in Oklahoma. If you are arrested, the arresting agency will generally send your information to OSBI which will then catalog your information. To expunge and clear OSBI records, they charge a fee of $150 to administratively expunge your file. If Oklahoma City Police were involved or were the arresting agency, you can expect an additional $150 administrative fee charged by the City of Oklahoma City.
